Carinthia captivates with a unique blend of nature, history, and cultural diversity. In 2025, remembrance takes centre stage: numerous initiatives, led by the special exhibition “HINSCHAUN! POGLEJMO.” at the kärnten.museum, invite reflection on the past.
A major highlight is the opening of the Ingeborg Bachmann Literature Museum in Klagenfurt – a tribute to one of Europe’s most important literary voices. Music also plays a key role: Carinthischer Sommer, Wörthersee Classics, the Millstatt Guitar Festival and many more will fill the region with sound.
Open-air theatres in historic castles and courtyards set the stage for impressive performances – from Wagner’s Rheingold to new productions like Don Quixote and The Curse of the Rose.
Modern museums, captivating exhibitions and international art spaces such as the Liaunig Museum, Kunsthaus Gmünd or Domenig Steinhaus make Carinthia a cultural hub of the Alpine-Adriatic region.
